Today we’ll be doing a quick and easy take on chicken with some herbs and ranch dressing. It’s something I like to make to serve with some Alfredo pasta. With only 5 ingredients, you should have most of the stuff needed in your kitchen for this one. Tender, juicy chicken breasts seasoned with Italian seasoning and garlic powder and a generous spoonful of ranch dressing. It looks and sounds simple and it is. But not at the cost of skimping on flavor. This one is yummy like my oven-baked chicken breasts or garlic butter baked chicken breast.

You can do this in a regular nonstick skillet or a cast iron pan. I cooked my boneless, skinless chicken breasts whole but you can opt to cut them into bite-sized pieces to lessen the cooking time, take out the guesswork and make it easier. And if you have some browned bits sticking to the bottom of your pan, don’t forget to rub your chicken in them to soak up all that flavor!

Let’s get started.

HERBED RANCH CHICKEN RECIPE TIPS

Start out with boneless, skinless chicken breasts. Pound the chicken breasts with a meat mallet until they are nice and even. Season them on both sides with Italian seasoning, garlic powder and salt and pepper to taste. Pan-fry them over medium-high heat on one side until cooked, lower the heat for the other side and cook until both sides are browned and ready.

Once that’s done, add in some ranch seasoning and coat all chicken sides with it. Cook it down a little until the ranch is fully absorbed into the chicken and you are done! The ranch dressing adds moisture and juiciness to the chicken and gives it a whole other layer of flavor. Yum!

Serve it with veggies on the side or over a bed of creamy pasta like I do. A great idea would be to serve it with a creamy Alfredo pasta made with some homemade Alfredo sauce over a bed of your favorite pasta.

Enjoy!

I’m making my way through your chicken recipes! XD
Tasty! I didn’t add salt, but that worked out well because the ranch wound up being very salty. I don’t know what the average sodium content for ranch dressing is, but salt sensitive people should keep that in mind, I suppose.
    On to the next dish!

I can see that! It’s been fun seeing your name pop up in my emails 🙂 Thanks for weighing in on the salt, that’s why I usually always say ‘salt and pepper to taste’ cause its such a matter of personal preference!

Farah, I am wondering if you ever brine your chicken breasts. I think it really improves tenderness and juiciness.

Can’t say that I have yet. Most of the time I cook chicken, it’s a fast and furious affair. I leave the tender loving care to things like beef roast, they tend to get special treatment 😉
